While looking at this application note from NXP, I realized that the ADS simulation shown there on p. 4 could be done by Qucs Studio, except for the taper. So, I think it would be a great idea if a taper (linear or exponential) is offered among the other transmission line elements.
Extending the component set is always nice. If somebody can provide the model equations for the microstrip taper, I will implement it.
Found this paper on taper microstrips https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/stamp/stamp.jsp?tp=&arnumber=9331565 using fft to calculate S11. Not sure if this is that straightforward to implement but for Z its quite straight forward a linear model.

Tapers can be analyzed with the theory of small reflections, e.g. here on Libretexts. Pozar’s well-known book Microwave Engineering discusses tapered lines (section 5.8 in the Fourth Edition).
