“you can execute oct files by opening then and click the simulation button” –> Yes I know. The problem is specific to my application. I use an old program which open cmd window, with some dialogues.

For example:  Press Return to Continue or S to Stop

In QUCS with the Octave Windows that works perfectly. But not with QucsStudio. When I press Return, that closes Octave.

In summary, my main question is why the Octave Window and the Octave Dock has been removed in QucsStudio? Is it because it is incompatible with “you can execute oct files by opening then and click the simulation button” ?

I would like to launch *.exe programs in the Octave window of the QucsStudio GUI. It is possible with QUCS and QUCS-S (see figure below). But not with QucsStudio because the “Octave Window” of the View tab is no more available

Why the Octave Window of QUCS is no more available in QucsStudio?

It is possible to reintroduce this Octave window in QucsStudio?

        Thanks and regards

Thank you so much Zoltan for sharing your linear regression routine. This is a key point for extracting model parameters directly (when it is possible) without using an optimizer.

It is not so easy for several reasons:

1- I’m using QucsStudio v3.3.2 with a patch sent by Michael M. to fix a bug (see ZHU’s comments). Unfortunately, this fix is not available in version 4.3.1. I hope it will be available in the next version of QucsStudio.

2- To better automatize the extraction steps, I use additional OCTAVE routines developed by ZHU. I am not owner of these routines.

3- The data used in the papers are company confidential.

My proposal is to post, as soon as I have time (over the Christmas period), a simple extraction example, based on the SPICE Gummel-Poon model, using non-confidential data.

                  Hello Daniel,
Personally, I needed to redo several times the registration before to succeed, but I do not remember exactly the issue (certainly with the password)
My colleague ZHU reported to me the following issue. If you want to have more details, please contact him directly.
“As a first step I tried to register with my old Username and password. Refused, telling that these were existing. Then tried to change the Username, refused saying the e-mail address is occupied. Then selected an other e-mail in our household. The password however did not arrive. That was the point I contacted Michael. He passed the problem to Daniel who solved the issue. Still I use the km long password with permanent login. After I received 3 messages from WordPress. Do not want to run a risk again”
                  Best regards
                  Didier

                    Hi Daniel,
Thanks you very much for this new feature.
Are you aware that some people have difficulties to register to the new forum? How to solve this issue?
                    Best regards,
                    Didier
